Students at Laurus Ryecroft delivered three nights of show-stopping performances in this year’s school production of Bugsy Malone.

After the success of last year’s production, staff and students wanted to set the bar even higher with a different kind of show.

Set in 1920s New York, the lively musical follows a rivalry between two gangs.

Fat Sam, the owner of a speakeasy, is in conflict with his rival Dandy Dan.

They get involved in perilous adventures with Bugsy Malone, a boxing promoter, who along the way falls for Blousey Brown, a singer dreaming of Hollywood.

With months of preparation and rehearsals, the dedicated cast, musicians, and crew worked tirelessly to make this an unforgettable show, and their hard work paid off!

Each night, students showcased their remarkable talents as they stepped into the shoes of gangsters and showgirls, delivering performances filled with energy and passion.

The production team praised the students for their hard work:
“we are so proud of every student who has embraced the rehearsal process with enthusiasm, professionalism and passion.”

From splurge gun fights to big musical numbers, students entertained and impressed at Fat Sam’s Grand Slam each evening, receiving multiple standing ovations!

We are incredibly proud of everyone who was involved in making Bugsy Malone a truly unforgettable production.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all students and staff who contributed to this show, and to our wonderful audience for sharing in our joy as we watched it come to life!
