At Laurus Ryecroft, we want to make sure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. Healthy school food has obvious health benefits and can help students establish healthy habits for life. It can also improve students’ readiness to learn.
We encourage all parents and carers to check whether their child is entitled to Free School Meals (FSM).
Eligibility
Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for free school meals (FSM).
Your child is eligible for FSM if you’re in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Meet the criteria set for families with no recourse to public funds
Why register?
Registering for FSM is beneficial to both the student and the school. By registering, you could also raise additional funds for the school to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or contribute to school trips.
If eligible, registering your child for FSM ensures Laurus Ryecroft receives the additional funding even if you choose not to take up the offer.
How to apply for Free School Meals
You can check if your child qualifies for free school meals by filling out an online application form. Any benefits that you currently receive will not be affected.
