Year 7 students at Laurus Ryecroft recently enjoyed an engaging and inspiring Careers and Team-Building Day led by representatives from the British Army.
The day began with an informative assembly, where students explored the wide range of career pathways and opportunities available within the Army. They learned that a career in the military involves far more than frontline service, with roles ranging from engineering and logistics to medicine, communications, technology and leadership.
Following the assembly, students took part in a variety of team-building challenges in the sports hall. These activities required them to work together, communicate effectively and solve problems under pressure.
Throughout the day, they demonstrated many of the Laurus Ryecroft Qualities, Attitudes and Habits (QAHs), particularly Courage, Social Intelligence, Perseverance and Curiosity.
The activities encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, support one another and develop valuable personal and employability skills that will benefit them both in school and beyond.
