To help you plan your visit, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about the event and what you can expect on the evening.
When is the Open Evening?
Our Open Evening will take place on Wednesday 7th October 2026.
The evening will run from 5.30pm to 8.00pm and you can drop in at a time that suits you.
Who is it for?
Our Open Evening is for prospective students and parents/carers who are interested in applying for a Year 7 place at our school to start in September 2027.
What can I expect?
You will have the opportunity to tour our school, explore our curriculum, meet current students and staff, and ask any questions you may have.
Mr Carling, our Head of School, will also be delivering talks throughout the evening, providing an introduction to life at Laurus Ryecroft. Talks will take place at 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm.
Do I need to register for the Open Evening?
There’s no need to register; simply drop in at a time that suits you!
How do I get to the school?
Laurus Ryecroft is in Tameside. Our address is Lumb Lane, Droylsden, Manchester, M43 7LJ.
Parking capacity is limited, so we strongly advise that guests make use of public transport links or opt to travel by foot to get here. If you do travel by car, please be respectful of our neighbours and avoid parking on driveways or blocking access roads.
Accessible parking is available for those who need it.
When is the admissions deadline for the academic year 2027/28?
The deadline for applications is Saturday 31st October 2026. The Laurus Trust is the Admissions Authority for Laurus Ryecroft.

When do I find out whether I’ve been offered a place?
Offer day is Monday 1st March 2027.
