Laurus Ryecroft Sixth Form is celebrating an exceptional year of university offers, reflecting the academic ambition, dedication, and hard work of its students and staff.

Two thirds of all university applicants have secured offers from Russell Group universities, demonstrating the Sixth Form’s strong academic culture and commitment to excellence.

This year has also seen remarkable success for students applying to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Of those who submitted Oxbridge applications, 75% were invited to interview, and two thirds of these students have received offers from the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.

In addition, the Sixth Form is proud to announce that a student has received multiple offers to study Veterinary Medicine, one of the most competitive university courses in the UK.

These achievements highlight the impact of Laurus Ryecroft’s comprehensive and personalised support for post-18 pathways. Through the Life After Laurus programme, all students receive expert advice and guidance on university applications, apprenticeships, and other destinations, ensuring they are well prepared to progress to the next stage of their education.

Students aspiring to Oxford or Cambridge can enrol in the Sixth Form’s dedicated Oxbridge Elective, which provides supervisions focused on super-curricular exploration, expert guidance on the application and interview process, visits from university admissions teams, and an annual Sixth Form trip to Oxford and Cambridge.

Those interested in pursuing Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science benefit from the specialised MDV Elective, which offers tailored support including mentoring through Medics&Me, expert preparation for entrance exams, and bespoke guidance throughout the application journey.

To further support students applying for courses requiring an interview, all applicants receive a one-to-one voice coaching session with Tom Morrison, a professional voice and presence coach, helping students build confidence and perform at their best.

Director of Sixth Form, Tom Mansfield, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our students. Their success is thoroughly well deserved and a testament to their hard work and resilience. I am deeply grateful to our staff for the exceptional support they provide, and I am delighted to see our students being unapologetically aspirational.”

Head of School, Reece Carling, commented:

“Our Sixth Form students continue to impress us with their drive and ambition, and these university offers reflect the extraordinary effort they put into their studies. Well done everyone.”

Laurus Ryecroft Sixth Form extends its warmest congratulations to all students receiving offers and looks forward to celebrating their continued success.
