Last week, our Year 8 students enjoyed a fantastic and inspiring visit to the University of Liverpool, as part of our ongoing focus on raising aspirations and encouraging students to think about their future pathways.

During the trip, students explored the impressive campus and got a real feel for what university life might be like. They visited lecture halls, social spaces and learning facilities, and had the chance to speak to current students about their experiences.

One of the highlights of the day was an exciting science demonstration involving liquid nitrogen. Students saw how materials react at extreme temperatures, even turning rubber solid enough to shatter like glass. It was a great way to bring science to life and sparked plenty of curiosity around STEM subjects.

The visit was both educational and enjoyable, giving students the opportunity to experience something new outside the classroom and think about the wide range of opportunities available to them in the future.

We are incredibly proud of how our Year 8 students represented the school throughout the trip, showing excellent behaviour and a really positive attitude. We hope the experience has inspired them to aim high and keep working towards their goals.
