As part of our ongoing Active Citizenship programme, a group of Laurus Ryecroft cheerleaders visited Daisy Nook House Care Home this week to bring a little extra warmth and joy to residents on a cold December afternoon.

The students delivered a brilliant set of cheerleading performances, showcasing not only their skill and teamwork but also their enthusiasm for giving back to the community. Their energetic routines were met with smiles, applause and heartfelt appreciation from both residents and staff.

Deputy Manager Susan shared her gratitude following the visit:
“We all thoroughly enjoyed the cheerleading show from your students. It’s so important for our residents to have engagement with young people from the local community. There were lots of lovely comments about the performance long after the girls left – it put a smile on so many faces on a cold December day. I just want to say a big thank you from everyone here; they are such a credit to your school.”

The visit is one of many opportunities offered through our Active Citizenship programme, which was established to help students develop leadership skills, contribute meaningfully to the local community and embody the Laurus Trust ethos of Leadership and Service.

The programme continues to gather real momentum, with students taking part in projects that make a positive difference to others while building confidence, empathy and a strong sense of social responsibility. We are extremely proud of the students who took part in this visit, and of everyone involved in the wider programme. Their commitment, kindness and energy reflect the very best of Laurus Ryecroft.
